Drone operators who are planning to head to sunny Langkawi to capture some cool footage of the upcoming 29th SEA Games will have to take their canggih equipment elsewhere.
 
The state of Kedah has banned all types of drones at all locations where the sailing events will be held.
 
Kedah Police Chief Datuk Asri Yusoff told Bernama that there will be several security measures enforced during this high-profile sporting event to prevent potential threats.
 
One of them is tightening the movements of ships and boats around Langkawi waters.
 
282 officers and personnel under the Royal Malaysian Police are currently undergoing the E-Rimau practical training to prepare them for the SEA Games.
 
The police will also mirror security measures implemented during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) to protect the spectators as well as tourists visiting the island on both land and sea.

The 2017 SEA Games will take place in Malaysia from 19 to 30 August, which will coincide with the celebration of Malaysia's 60th Independence Day. This will be the sixth time Malaysia is hosting the biennial games.

There will be a total of 405 events in 38 sports featured in the games. So if you're planning to catch any event of your favourite sport, tickets will be on sale after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
