A 15-Year-Old Schoolboy Will Represent Malaysia At The World Robotic Olympics

Move aside, Japan: we know robots too!
A 15-year-old student from Kota Bharu has been chosen to represent Malaysia at the International Robot Olympics competition, The New Straits Times reports.Raja Adam Ahmad Raja Iskandar, who studies at SMK Kubang Kerian, was reportedly one of seven students selected to take part in the competition.
The International Robot Olympics will be taking place in Washington from 16 to 18 July.
Raja Adam, who told the daily that he started developing an interest for robots since he was five, said he was absolutely thrilled for being chosen to represent Malaysia as over 2,500 participants took part in the qualifying rounds.
"I'm maybe short on experience but I want to prove my ability to set a record for my school and the country," he was quoted by the NST as saying.
Teams from more than 150 nations in the world will reportedly be taking part in the International Robot Olympics.
And no, it will not be like something you see on Robot Wars where contestants build killer robots and try to destroy each other to be crowned champion (although we wish that it was).
